The Range of Services Offered By Various Wedding Caterers
There are various wedding caterers to choose from, but before you do, know first what you want to happen in your wedding reception like your preferred food menu, type of food serving, theme and the likes. It is difficult to choose especially when you want so many things for your reception. A wedding happens once in a lifetime and you want it to be as memorable as it can be.
Knowing the range of services that your wedding caterer offer may provide you with insights on choosing which one suits you best. You may opt to go for “in house” caterers. The venue of your wedding banquet will provide everything from the food, tables and chairs, decors, and the serving staff. These are usually found in hotels, restaurants, country club or even on a cruise ship. This is perhaps the most convenient since you do not need to bother with so many details. The reception coordinator that most hotels provide will facilitate things for you. The only disadvantage to this arrangement is that you have a limited choice. More often than not, you have to make do with their offered packages although you may not really like the particular appetizer that they are serving. If you go a la carte with your food menu, you may end up spending more. However, there are some eager caterers who will want to accommodate you needs and can offer a more reasonable rate.
Another alternative is to go for your usual independent caterer. There are some caterers that specialize in weddings and have very creative ideas for your menu and food settings. Many of these independent caterers offer varying types of service and cuisines. You will find one that may offer Asian food fares while there are many who are more versatile, able to offer local and international dishes. This particular arrangement is obviously less convenient than your in house service, since you will be doing more coordinating and consulting. Still, these caterers may provide you with an extensive service from cutlery, tables and chairs and food servers. Just make sure to do a thorough research and go for reputable names preferably those recommended by your trusted friends.
There are also simple straightforward caterers specializing in food preparation. They are called the “bare bones” caterer since they usually do not offer extensive service but limit themselves to food sourcing and preparation. For sure, you can reduce your costs with this kind of catering and have enough for your other wedding needs like a spectacular honeymoon perhaps. These caterers have very minimal personnel, mostly family members. They will not be able to help you much in the other crucial elements for your wedding reception like food servings, cutlery and decorations. You will have to work on this yourself. The greatest advantage of having bare-bones catering is that the relative ease in coordination especially when it comes to specific dishes you like for your wedding feast.
The choice is really up to you, once you have apportioned quality time to plan for your wedding. Your preference and budget are the primary considerations in choosing your wedding catering. After all, to make your wedding memorable, you have to own every detail of the plan up to the wedding itself.
